In a one-sided affair on Sunday’s Le Classique, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) asserted their control from the opening whistle, clinching a decisive 4-0 win against Marseille.

The only setback for Luis Enrique’s squad occurred in the first half when Kylian Mbappe had to exit the game due to injury. Despite this, PSG displayed a flawless performance, capitalizing on four goals against a lackluster Marseille team that failed to pose any significant challenge.

PSG wasted no time in breaking the deadlock, as Achraf Hakimi scored a stunning free kick into the top corner just eight minutes into the contest. This impressive strike seemed to come from a crossing position, showcasing PSG’s early dominance.

Marseille had a chance to level the score in the 23rd minute when Vitinha’s powerful header grazed the top of the crossbar. However, PSG maintained control, doubling their lead in the 37th minute with Kolo Muani calmly slotting home a rebound.

Goncalo Ramos replaced the injured Mbappe after the half-hour mark, and PSG extended their lead minutes into the second half. Ousmane Dembele delivered a pinpoint cross to Ramos, who powered a header into the net, making it 3-0.

Although Achraf Hakimi missed an opportunity just outside the box, PSG continued their dominance. The Moroccan, who was a constant threat throughout the game, narrowly missed a second free-kick goal as his effort went wide.

In the latter stages of the match, PSG shifted to game management mode, maintaining possession in the midfield and confidently connecting passes while opting not to commit as many players forward.

The rout was sealed in the 89th minute when Gonzalo Ramos delicately chipped his shot over Lopez, completing a stellar night for PSG and a dismal one for Marseille.
