In a pivotal Game 2 of the Korean Basketball League Finals, Rhenz Abando played a crucial role in propelling Anyang KGC to an 81-67 victory over the Seoul SK Knights, evening the series at 1-1. The exciting matchup took place on Thursday at Anyang Gymnasium.
After a subdued performance in their 77-66 loss in Game 1, Abando bounced back impressively, contributing 18 points in an efficient display. He shot 8-of-13 from the field, grabbed four rebounds, made three steals, and dished out two assists during his 27 minutes on the court.
Anyang’s charge was led by Oh Se-geun, who scored 21 points, pulled down nine rebounds, recorded three assists, and made two steals. Omari Spellman posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, along with five assists, helping to level the best-of-7 series.
Byun Joon-hyung also played a significant role, contributing 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Anyang took control of the game in the first half, securing a 42-28 lead and maintaining their momentum to close out the match.
Jameel Warney, Seoul’s top scorer in Game 1 with 23 points, was limited to just nine points on 4-of-17 shooting, and he grabbed eight rebounds. This defensive effort prevented Seoul from taking a 2-0 series lead.
Choi Bu-Kyung stepped up for the SK Knights with 17 points and 12 rebounds, receiving support from Choi Sung-won’s 12 points and Kim Seon-Hyung’s double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
