After suffering a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United in the midweek Champions League clash, Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain was determined to bounce back, and they did just that on Sunday night against an undefeated Rennes side.

Facing Rennes at the Roazhon Park, Vitinha, who replaced Randal Kolo Muani in the starting lineup, played a crucial role by scoring in a 3-1 victory.

PSG had a shaky start as Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga tested Gianluigi Donnarumma on six minutes, resulting in an excellent save. However, Vitinha’s brilliance broke the deadlock with a stunning 20-yard strike that curled into the top corner, leaving Steve Mandanda helpless.

Achraf Hakimi extended PSG’s lead just four minutes later, capitalizing on a perfectly delivered assist by Warren Zaire-Emery, who had also provided an excellent assist in the previous game against Newcastle.

Despite Rennes’ attempt to mount a comeback with Amine Gouiri’s powerful header, Muani, introduced after Rennes’ goal, made an immediate impact. He scored with his first touch, tapping in Ousmane Dembele’s cross. Although his second goal was ruled out for an offside in the build-up, Muani played like a man on a mission, helping PSG secure a convincing victory and put the Newcastle defeat behind them.
